On a winter morning of the previous year, grandma Paraskevo from Samos island, lost her partner and true love of her life, Mr Manolis. A few months later, the covid-19 lockdown forced her to stay at home and the loneliness made her bereavement even harder to bear. For the first time in her life, she took pen and paper and started writing lyrics (because poetry is born effortlessly, when death meets love). One day, she called and read to us one of her little poems. “You should make it a hit song”, she said jokingly. And then… this song was born, with the keys of the piano giving rhythm to the steps of death and the voice grieving the unbearable pain of loss.

Σάββατο έφυγες πρωί
μονάχη, αγάπη μου, μ' αφήνεις
και πού να βρίσκεσαι ρωτώ
πού είσαι, πού γυρίζεις.

Έφυγες και μ' άφησες κενό
